Google Figures it out with Google Drive Storage

For years now it seems that Google, with a combination of all the ‘freemium’ services they have been offering, really needed to find a away to make people pay for these services without tipping the boat. Rather, without pissing people off quite frankly. Well it seems they have solved this quandary by merging Google Drive (formerly google docs), Gmail, and Google+ Photos (formerly picasa).

All this for a combined 15GB of total storage for ‘free’. We’ll before this happened, I had 10GB of Gmail, 10GB of Google Docs and nearly another 10GB with Google Photos. So google has seemingly cut their overhead in half and found a way to make us pay for the extra strorage after all. When these services merged, if you are so lucky to have more than 15GBs of stuff, you now get to pay for the overage.

From a business stand point I get it, it doesn’t mean everyone has to like it.
